So you saw what the mess in the front looked like after the workers were in. They did an awful job ie did not bother to return the grass to its' original positions. My mother came over and got roped into helping. She had the good idea to get littles granite stone to separate the grass from the lawn. So off to the garden center we all went and were able to get some stone immediately.

The shape of the lawn was changed from 2 straight edges to a curvy line which also increased the size of the beds in the corner to something more useable. Previously the grass in those corners had been unable to grow very well as the trees provided too much shade and stole all the moisture. Hopefully the new arrangement will work well.

Having laid out the plants to a position we thought would like we proceeded to plant them all.

Then the next day we got a few more plants to liven it up a bit. Unfortunately the photos don't really give the whole impact but we are rather pleased with our efforts.

Now all that is missing is some grass but we are only doing that after our holiday in France!
